I’m Amanda, the founder of Mookii Creative, an Indigenous small business built to support purpose driven people. I’m Anishinaabe from Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory, now living and working on the lands of the q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), Máthxwi (Matsqui), and se’mya’me (Semiahmoo) First Nations in Langley, BC. Mookii means “emerging from somewhere or something” in Ojibwe.
Ojibwe is an Indigenous language spoken by the Anishinaabe, and my family from Manitoulin Island. It carries teachings about identity, community, and the way we move through the world. Many Ojibwe words describe not just a thing, but a process or a way of becoming. Mookii is one of those words.
It speaks to the moment when something starts to take shape. When clarity forms. When purpose becomes visible. When you begin to step into who you are meant to be.
This is the heart of how I approach values based marketing. Everything begins with your foundation. When you have clarity about your purpose and the people you serve, your message becomes stronger.
